- B Added June 13, 2021★ ★ ☆ ☆ ☆Partner was adamant how good fish and chips are from this shop, while I prefer another that we had been to the other week, but because she insisted, we ended up having a take away here 2hrs ago. Guess what? We ended up having minor argument. 3 fish were fried with thick layer of flour and overcooked to the point that it became hard and dry. Fish cake was hard and salty. Seriously, those who rated this place 5 stars: where else had you previously gone? Why having such low standard?
Honky dory at South Melbourne, Off the pier at Williamstown, Archie's at Mt Waverley, just to name a few, all taste heaps better than here.
I don't know whether it's the case that battered fish is consistently bad here, chef had a bad day, or any change of management, either way, I will never find out. Not willing to re visit.
Given that I'm among one of the recent few who had bad experience here, maybe the owner wants to revisit recipes or check on staffs. Few customers lost doesn't mean future customers will go too if the owner is willing to examine the issue.
